E.Y.E Review---ish

Introduction

E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy is a game that is incredible hard to describe because there's nothing quite like it on the market, but, if i had to describe it i would say that it's a"mix of deus ex's stat and open ended missions married with dark messiah of might and magic's aesthetic style" and even that is underselling this games incredible ambition with its shoe string budget showing us that a giant budget doesn't make a great game. Lets dive in!

The Setup

The story takes place after you wake up in a cave after a battle has apparently happened and you are the only survivor. You wake up with a small case of amnesia and you fight to the surface of the cave to meet up with your best friend dutch ( according to him, i seriously doubt this dude ) to tell him you don't remember what happened and you woke up with amnesia and you fly back to the temple home of the EYE. The EYE are a secret society filled with internal strife of the 2 factions in EYE called the Culter and Jian.

You belong to the Culter and are a apprentince of "metor" ( real creative there guys a+ ) and you engage in conspiracy investigation leading you to either expose the truth or join it.

Shit happens, for real. ( a.k.a gameplay )

The gameplay in EYE is kind part half life 2 part deus ex but more like the latter, Including augmentations and PSI powers, a clone or clone army and robotic assistance from either sentry guns or floating robots with guns welded to their sides or if stealth is more your pace you can hack enemies cyber brains and make them fight for you or just kill themselves, oh boy!

Game play is fun and frantic if you want it to be or you could slow it down by changing the respawn rates of enemies, with an assortment of ways to kill dudes it's always fun to play or replay levels or entire campaigns solo or co-op, oh yeah i forgot to mention the entire game is completely co-op if you so choose so you and up to 4 friends can play together in this bad boy. many of the missions are open ended in the way you completely ( or if ) you complete them or even seek them out, for example, i was hacking a com. tower on the edge of a cliff and failed the hack. The tower proceeded to hack me and make my guy jump off

the cliff killing me.... this game is amazing. Also this happened, for real.

You can get it off steam for 19$ or 59$ for a 4 pack ( 14 ea ) if you can get your friends in on it.

Acrony, the developer of Parabellum finally did something so groundbreakingly smart i would buy them a beer if i could. They drop that god awful gamersfist publisher also known as K2 and is currently looking for anew!

If i where to atleast push them in the right direction, I would say ijji, Strictly for the fact they know first person shooter games, hell half the portal is exactly that, You might be thinking "V you're a retard why would they pick up another shooter, they have like 4!" well, that may be so but Parabellum is such a different game from anything they currently offer i would say it's a smart move, But what do i know? I'm just a blogger.

I seem to be the only one that notices a trend with aeriagames, What is this trend you ask? well i will tell you faithful reader! ( just kidding, no one reads this blog ) anyway they seem to take a brute force approach to publishing, they must have the capital of EA or even Activison to try this, Or they just scam kids out of their parents money to drop on an mmo that dies within 4 fucking months.

What they seem to keep doing is, outlined here,

1.buy the publishing rights to very shitty games for 10 dollars
2. Open it and make 100$

Ask Korea: content streamlining

Dear Korea,

Why is it that it takes years for content you've already developed to be released in other country's?
I will be using crossfire in this example, and yes i realizes some company's are better at this then others ( runewalker ) But, i simply do NOT understand why content that requires no additional translations, Or even thought to ship out takes sometimes, years before it's even streamlined into the states.

My thoughts is that it's a marketing strategy, release low content then streamline to keep interest in the game when *new* content is shipped into our version of the game, But that doesn't make any sense because in the native territory's they already have this content so you still have to put dev time into new content for them.

Dear Korea, Why do you insist on shipping your games with gameguard and gameguard forks ( I.E xtrap, HShield pro, etc ) they do not stop any cheaters in any way, shape, or form. I assume it's because cheating is not big in Korea and the fact you have to use a KSSN to even play your games, But when you ship stuff to the west that shit is throw out the gate, anyone can make an account and they simply do not care, In fact maybe it's because it costs little to nothing to ship a game with it? i don't expect an answer for that one though, due to the pricing options being under a NDA i would assume ( Correct me if i'm wrong )

So, Please Korea tell me why you insist on anal fisting us with gameguard.

Alliance of valiant arms is a first person shouting match developed by RedDuck and published by NHN USA ( also known as IJJI )

Why is it it a shouting match? LETS GET TO IT!

The first thing you will notice in AvA is that it's powered by the amazing engine Unreal 3, So visually it's amazing looking but that's about where the good of the game ends sadly, Once you're in a game you have 3 classes sniper, assault and marksmen and the assault and marksmen are pretty much the same class, GLASS CANNONS BABY.

Once you're playing the game however you will notice that snipers will always, ALWAYS kill you because they're the best class in the game, take as many hits as an assault guy, deal 1 hit kills almost every time and rage you out of your fucking skull.

the game modes consist of escort, demolition, TDM and they all work pretty well, given their stander ed fair origins. But the unique gamemode they have is prison break where you mow down alot of retarded AI people that cannot path find for the life of them, Infact they remind me of the teammate AI in RSV2

The avatar customization is almost non existent, there's only a handful of guns but they can be moded slightly, ever so slightly at that. Lets get to the first person shouting match of this game shall we? this game is FULL of aimbotters and cheaters alike, seriously full of them so every once and a while you will get a good player and it just becomes a shouting match vs playing the fucking game and half the time it's broken engrish insults like "IS NOOB HAK" and the game just becomes so un-injoyable that i just stop playing it.

My rating? the game has potential, And ijji is really ramping out content for the game but ultimately it will suffer the same fate CA has, crappy community and cheaters everywhere if they don't step up their game.

Star Wars: the force unleashed

This game is not new, But it just came out on the PC and after a very long 14GB download i'm going to give my review of this waste of bandwidth.

As soon as you start the game you will see something that will scare you into shock. This port was done by aspyer fucking great this game is going to run like shit on my rig! alright!
Then after that huff of rage i start a new game then some cinematic plays i honestly don't give two shits about, i just want to play and throw people into trees motherfucka.

You start as Darth Vader and wow! already 10 seconds into the game and i already see a fucking issue, You can not sprint when controlling Darth Vader I understand the cannon behind it but fucking hell this level is fucking long as hell and i have to walk the whole god damn thing.

After finishing that level is when you take control of starkiller, Darth Vader's secret apprentice you save during the first level about 10 years later. Your first mission looks like it takes place on a star destroyer then you guessed it, Dungeon crawl the whole level and kill a very anti-climatic boss.

As for gameplay, it's pretty fun at first but the novelty wears off fast. There isn't much incentive to change it up but it will give you choices to do so.

My rating? not worth 50$ or the 14GB download.

Thoughts of a former boycotter

When valve announced left 4 dead 2 at e3 I had 2 thoughts, Why and l4d will be dead within 2 months.

Now, the why is what bothered me the most as valve has never shipped a full product in a year, Shit i'm still waiting for Ep3. Then when i saw the video e3 video of left 4 dead 2 I was cocksure that it was going to be a re skin of left 4 dead, I felt completely ripped off by valve lots of game company's do what i just said but not valve, They're the arguably the best game studio in the world.

Then to see them do something like this? i was slapped in the face of everything i thought about valve. for a few months i refused to watch anything that had left 4 dead 2 in it, be it interviews or game play footage from PAX or any other event.

But after a while i lightened up to the idea of a new left 4 dead but i was determent to not buy into valve said about it, I was sure that EA was behind this sequel
churning, After all EA loves pumping out madden every year. Then the left 4 dead 2 pre-orders went up, Then it dawned on me Valve has never released a terrible product in its whole life span, Why should left 4 dead 2 be any different?

So i bit the bullet and pre-ordered it and got to play the demo and instantly all my worries vanished before me. This was a completely new game, Not a re-skin as i imagined it and also vastly different from what I saw from the e3 video so many months ago.

Then it was official, I went from boycotting a product and changing into one of the many happy valve fans.

It's been a long time since i talked about parabellum and it has come along way since i reviewed it here.

But i still hold my idea it will fail becomes of gamersfirst, And i think i was right on the money when i called it because they released how they plan to make money off it.

It should of been no surprise to anyone that it was going to have micro-transactions BUT of this magnitude is fucking ludicrous, First they're doing the warrock approach to payment plans ( silver, gold, platinum ) and the best part is? Free2play users CANNOT start S&D mode maps, Only join them also as a f2p user you can only start a few TDM maps, that's it. I Still believe gamersfirst is the the pinnacle of everything wrong in M.T.A games and they're taking a otherwise good game and turning it into warrock v 2.0 Acrony, You seriously need to reconsider another publisher. Hell i would be happy if you even picked aeriagames atleast it would be a step up from gamersfirst.

Although merc wars came out before this, It refuses to work for me so this review is first.

Ah the source engine, the pinnacle of stability, reliability and it's robustness on high end and low end pc's, So far this game has good points with me, But let me tell you how even the Korean developers can destroy such a masterpiece! LETS GET TO IT ARGGG!

First, and foremost they slapped game guard into source, awesome job Korea! won't stop a single hacker.

After that the game loads up and you're first option is to pick a type of avatar, SAS, Spitnaz, etc then we hop into a game and oh my god the graphics oh no! oh let me turn them up, Oh that's better but not much.

Game play:
I was expecting it to act someone like CS:S as it's basically css but free. Oh no they completely butchered every aspect of css, recoil in this game is virtually no existent just spray & pray.

Next up is the graphics, You would imagine the developers would take advantage of such a perfect engine right? Wrong. They're from Korea after all, they must ruin anything good made by westerners ( E.G Unreal 3 engine, Lithtech jupitor, etc )
The modelling is ADMISSIBLE at best, the animations are not bad but fucking hell do the models look like they where made by a first year using lightwave.

i pretty much stopped playing after 6 or 7 rounds as i could not taking this anymore and watch these developers ruin the source engine anymore.

My rating? fucking stay the hell away from K.O.S Online unless you don't own CS:S already.

This review took some more time then expected but i wanted to make sure I was 100% on my opinion on this game, And i think I've reached my opinion where it won't sway back or forth from now on. Lets get it rolling then.

DFO is a 2nd hack & slash developed by neopeople and published by nexon corporation and has been very successful in every territory it has been published too, Would this prove to be true in america as well?

So far the game has been a massive massive success in north america from what i can see, the channels are very full and filled to the brim with 12 year old wapanese kids.

At the start of the game you're giving a brief cut scene with your hero in it, to be honest I skipped it because the manga style was really annoying to watch but after that you start.. well.. fighting of course and what is really awesome in this game is the combat as well as the art style, This game uses very well done pixel art for everything and it looks beautiful and colorful, The combat takes quite a bit of getting used to, the enemys and people move on this sort of invisible grid and if you're slightly to high you wont hit vise versa, It's really annoying at first but it doesn't become an issue after you figure out how to move to these "grids" and attack fast & furious.

After the first quest you meet some chick with a thong ridding up her arse, sex appeal for the 12 year olds I guess, Anyway after you meet her you're given a "house" where you have a treasure box and a mailbox, Kind of a neat idea to put a mailbox there so people don't crowed the fuck out of it.

The quests are very very standered fair here, kill x of y, get x of y, etc etc but really the quests are fun to do when the combat is so fun so I won't knock them for that.

So after alot of questing and pve i decided to do what this game is big for, PVP Now before i start on this I rolled a mage just for your info and you will see why i even bring this up later, So continuing the PVP experience here i go into a room and it's a death match and holy fuck the gunner kills everyone & everything, He has it all, range, health, damage, snare, you name it he has it. After QQ'ing about getting owned i come to find out mages uberly suck in pvp until they hit around 30 or so. My experience in pvp was very jaded and sucked badly so i never touched it again after that.

There is alot i didn't go over but my opinion of DFO would be.

Try it when it comes out sept 22nd for everyone to play, it's simple side scrolling fun.

Runes Of Magic Chapter II came out today so i'm going to burst review it.

Basically It's Runes Of Magic with elf's and it will not attract anyone that wasn't already into the game, Quests are mostly the same still buggy as always too.

the new classes are just borrrringgggg
some new animations & sounds but to be honest, That kind of shit should of been a launch feature.

My rating? It's no saving messiah for Runes Of Magic, But it doesn't hurt to have more content. Only try it if you're already loving the game or else just avoid it.

Before we start, This will be a very wordy article and have no meaning to anyone but me as i write it and it will be full of pathetic nerd rage over a video game.

Lets get down to the topic of this article now, Outspark.

When i first heard of outspark it was because of the new game they where releasing, keyword where but they claim it's still "coming soon" but in my eyes it's taking the DNF approach to that word.

After a month or so they released the closed beta of the game and i was blind sided by this game, it was almost perfect in my eyes the guns, graphics, game play, down to the map design was simply amazing for a free 2 play game and it was going to be a game i played religiously, In fact they held a contest for CB tracking the top kills with every gun, map, gamemode etc, Outspark had one for total kills in the whole CB and I was #1 why do I bring this up? not to toot my own horn but to tell you i was dedicated to this game and loved every single minute of it.

Here is where the story gets dark and all hope is lost, After the CB ended they said it would be out around december of '08 and that was fine, awesome i cannot wait to play!... well they missed that date and said for sure it's coming out January... and you guessed it they missed that date too, A very long post from a GM ( 3 months later after the date was missed ) came out saying realistically the game would come out in 3 months. The best part of this was that the post was made on April 1st so i wasn't sure if it was a joke or what but it turns out it was just an over site and it was real, By this time my moral was from low to just nothing everyday from dec '08 to around august '09 i would check the forums for news and sometimes post or just troll.

The last news about this game was from "06-19-2009, 06:41 PM" posted by SKiNG saying it still has issues with developer and that was the last Official word we have heard. Then it so happens a few months later some CSR ( Customer service rep ) posted on the forum that it could take years to get this game out, Instantly i was done i washed my hands of outspark and the whole game and i did the most logical thing i could think of.

Spam the forum with goatse and tubgirl for a few hours until i was permanently banned from Outsparks forums and games, Was this the best thing to do when they refused to give us info? lied and stole from us? oh i forgot to tell you, you where able to by sparkcash for the game before it came out so you could spend it in Open Beta but the kicker is if you hated every other Outspark game and bought sparkcash not only would you probably not use it the fucking money expires in 1 year.. And that 1 year is in 2 weeks, Good investment by those people that dropped money.

But back to what i was saying about morally, Was it slightly rash for me to do that on one CSR's post? Yes. Would i do it again? yes, In fact I know what i did was horrible and I'm a horrible person for doing it and I'm not pretending to have a scapegoat for doing it even if they took something from me it's not a good reason but I did it anyway and i don't care.

Singapore Gamers Commit Suicide To "Save the world"

Eight Singapore fans of Japanese game Slayers entered into a suicide pact so that they could become "Slayers" themselves and kill demons in World War III. The "pact" lasted two suicides, before the rest of the kids realized they were being f*cking stupid and backed out of the plan once they saw two friends leap to their deaths from a tall building.

The pact was started by a 16-year-old, self-proclaimed Taoist medium called Ku Witaya, who convinced his brother and six other kids to join him in his quest to become a "Slayer." He had led them to believe the world was coming to an end and that they had to sacrifice themselves for the greater good. The power he had over them was seemingly broken when he and his friend Sia Chan Hong were the first to make this "sacrifice," jumping from a ninth floor window. Hong survived the fall, but died in hospital three hours later.

Slayers is quite an old set of games, based on a series of light novels that revolve around a demon called the Lord of Nightmares that will be reborn if the world is destroyed. Singapore is not exactly known for its liberal and understanding approach to videogames, so we'll see if the game connection has any repurcussions.

Seriously though, these are the stupidest kids I've ever heard about.

Now it's kind of ironic, I normally do reviews of games still under strict NDA's but the day i decide to finally do this review the NDA is lifted from talking about it.

Anyway lets jump into the action that is known as forth as LOL.

If you have never played DoTA before ( i only played HoN and i did a review on it ) it's basically an isometric view action RPG with battles of 5v5 or 6v6 if you wish. And the objective of the game is to destroy the enemys base or "nexus" as it's called in LoL.

Ok so you start up the game and the biggiest glairing issue is finding a game, It's not like HoN with a server browser no, It's in a nutshell a carbon copy of left 4 deads matchmaking system but has an even bigger flaw in it sometimes it can take anywhere from 30 seconds to find a game to 10 fucking minutes. And truth be told this is the only honest to god thing i can find flawed in the game the friends system ( PvP.net they call it ) works perfectly, game never crashes, looks great runs great basically an all around great game in my opinion.

S.U.N is developed by Webzen, you know the guys that did huxley, mu online, etc but the point is that they're a big budget game studio from Korea, But with sun they could of fooled me.

Instantly when you start sun you are greeted with a very well done cinematic, well the voices suck and it ultimately doesn't progress the story but it's pretty so i guess that counts for something... right? Next the avatar creation, oh fucking hell Webzen? GENDER LOCKS? are you fucking kidding me? whatever fine. I pick an archer and i'm ready to set out in the world of... um I don't even remember the name of the place in fact I don't think it's ever said but I could be wrong on that.

My first quests consists of grinding some furry things, no problem i say this will be easy as Sunday morning. except the fact that only around 10 spawn and there's around 60 people camping these fucking things, So i finally kill 10 of these guys and get my next quest... and this is where the game goes south. i go to the next area and THERE STILL ISN'T ENOUGH MONSTERS SPAWNING VS THE RATIO OF PLAYERS fucking annoying BUT fine, ok I'll deal with it.

Next issue i have is what i was promised with this game, an ACTION MMORPG not another hit tab and press 123 game, seriously. fucking don't advertise this game as ACTION when it's really just a TAB123 to win game.

The only redeeming thing about this game is the armor looks good, graphics are pretty good for being quite old. And that's about it.

Lets start with when i was picked for the beta, the most i knew about this game is that it was by the guys that made last chaos, oh fucking great i thought this is going to be that with some new graphics.

At first the game wasn't working, not off to a good start so I ran it in admin mode and it fixed itself, Ok no problem.
Then i made my avatar oh great gender lock on the classes, 3-4 faces & hair to pick from not cool, After that i'm in the game running around and man is the mouse control bad, I'm used to left clicking being the "free" cam and right click being avatar turning well it's backwards in this so it kind of sucks, But no big deal I'll get used to it.

I find a quest giving guy and my first quest is.... I'm not even going to say because if you have ever played an mmo before you known exactly what it is. After i kill 10 of those STUPID FUCKING SPIDERS.. what? you really thought i wouldn't tell you the quest? anyway after that my next quest is to... ugh grind more monsters and every quest all the way to level 10 ( my current level so far ) is grinding monsters for an item or just kill x of y.

Then something happend, beyond this mediocre Korean grinder i started having.... fun. i happend to come across 50k gold and bought a mount at level 7, Yes a perma mount at level 7 check it out.

The combat is this games high point, it's flashy and i'm a sucker for that kind of thing, hell that's the only reason i played cabal for a while was because the skills looked really cool.

I think i will just go down on the issues and the shit i liked now,
-graphics are eh, but for a 700mb game they're exceptional.
-controls are horrid
-very unoptimized ( aka runs like shit most of the time )
- bad, and i mean badddd community
now for things i liked
-combat
-mounts at early level for only 50k gold
-upgrading system
-art direction

and this is my sacred shot attempt at a review, enjoy.

I didn't have any expectations for this game when I first saw it I thought starship troopers with a dime a dozen over the shoulder interface, suffice to say i figured it would be crap and oh boy was i right, kinda.

Lets start with the tutorial, Props too the devs for adding in a somewhat interesting tutorial but to bad you left out the most important thing to cover.
Your shitty lobby UI for fuck sakes it's one of the worst I have ever seen in any game Korean or not. Ok I finally get into a room and the game changes a lot depending on what team you picked so if you're a bug it becomes an RTS game minus base building more like DoW2 in this respect.

If you pick human it's where it becomes another dime a dozen over the shoulder shooter, Nothing new or intersting about it, Don't change what Doesn't work am I right guys? .....guys? anyone? oh well lets move on. As a human you defend these unexplained buildings that do..... something? I have no idea it's never clearly said from what I've seen. And as the bugs your mission is to break the building that does... an animation of up and down? i haven't the fucking foggiest guys.

Playing human is pretty standard fair here, shoot aliens, and alot of them.
Then playing bug is the pretty uninspiring just zerg zerg zerg baby.

seriously, fuck this game.

my rating is fucking avoid. unless you're an Onrpg person that hypes every game and will defend it no matter what, like aion.

Even though this game has been out for a while, And I've talked about it before i decided to do a writeup on this game.

Lets just get these things out of the way, Yes it has terrible graphics yes it's full of 12 year olds that whine and spam about bullshit.

If you can come over those factors then congratulations, You have yourself a very solid game to play, Much better then Sudden Attack in my opinion.

So what makes this game even remotely fun? well the best thing about this game is good players are few and far between so most of the time you will end up on the top players in the match if you know what end of the gun makes the *pew* *pew* sound.
another plus for this game is the guns are very distinct from one another unlike sudden attack where most of the guns are just bland and damage really doesn't even factor in most of the time all that matters is who hits the head first.

Gamemodes:
I will not talk about ghost mode as i have played it once and didn't like it so it's an instant fucking avoid from me, But the other game modes are very standard you have TDM,DM,S&D,Elimination ( think of iceworld in counterstrike ) but even though they're nothing new or special they're really fun, The maps are perfect in my opinion fpr all the modes and they're constantly adding content into the game, kudos for the devs there.

Lets just start from yesterday shall we?

Yesterday was a complete mess, no one was able to get into the game except a hand full of people and the same thing today, I was finally able to get in game by uninstalling AVAST! anti-virus, So far the way the beta is being handled is horrid a complete step back from CBT1.

Lets get down to the game play though, Picking up where i left off, i was able to leave Eska training camp and take a train ride into Eska ( the alternatives home city ) how fun! Then we're greeted with a small cut scene telling about Dr.Huxley and some story elements i will not ruin for you, Lets start out with saying how fucking huge Eska is, it's seriously massive you will be awe struck by the monuments and the building and the stuff going on, the hustle&bustle of a city pretty much, kudos for webzen getting that down.

I won't really talk much about PvE or PvP because i went over those in the first impressions i did for huxley. I think i'll leave it at this note.

huxley is great, has technical issues, and performance hiccups.

it's been around 2 hours of game play, and i'm ready to give my review on the extremely popular Korean first person shooter, SUDDEN ATTACK.

First, the menu, etc is not terrible but suffers from the same thing neosteam did, minus the clunkiness it looks like it was made by a first year graphics designer. But it's functional so far so good.

Game play:
I have alot to say about this game i feel as if i'm torn between loving the gameplay and then on the other hand it pisses me right off mostly because there's already really good players all over this game. But i will not take into the account of my skill in the review of the gameplay.
The animations are smooth for the most part, the guns feel "right" but on the other hand sometimes it seems there's not enough recoil on the guns, For example i was playing a round of explosion ( search and destroy ) and i ran into a room of about 3 SWAT agents pretty much stacked on one another and i just let lose the full out of the m4 and i killed them all, Now this sounds awesome but i noticed something, the grouping was way way to fucking tight for something like an m4.

Features:
just a little something i would like to point out, they added an option for leftys so the gun will be on the left side, not a big deal but i love it.
Then the graphics are hit and miss, some things are very nice looking but some of it looks like garbage, Although i don't mind the hit and miss graphics because the gameplay carries this game very far in my opinion.

So what would i rate this game?

eh, 7/10 could use some polish and more content.

NeoSteam is a mmorpg published by atlus online and developed by JoyImpact, it came out around 2 months ago but i just finally got around to write about it so lets dive right into it.

first things first, the intro was not boring enough to skip and i liked it, good so far. Then after that it all goes downhill, character creation is minimal at best, most races can only be male or female, i didn't even bother changing the faces or anything else so not much to cover here.

The controls are really really bad you can use W to move forward and s to move backwards but a & s move the camera so you're better off using the click too move option, Wow the combat is nothing special but it's not terrible other then being questionably unresponsive the right click to attack is.

The graphics are also not terrible, but nothing impressive i will say though the style they decided on for it was to strange for me to enjoy, for example the scaling on buildings, items, etc was really wierd as in if you stacked 2 of the little furry people on top of each other that would be around the size of the biggest building in the starting town. Speaking of furry people everyone i came across was either the short furry people or the werewolf people, I think it's just something i will understand to why you would want to be a werewolf carrying some staff or a dagger, because it looks really fucking retarded in my opinon.

The user interface was easily the worst thing in the game, it's big, clunky, looks like a kindergarten student made it, err I take that back it would be insulting to a kindergartener to say that, sorry.
On that note whose idea was it to make the damage text so fucking big and annoying THEN put it in the middle of the screen? seriously? what the fuck where you thinking?

I took and snapshot of someone from the other faction attacking some guards, and even how fun that sounds, it looked really dull and uneventful.

Now, i guess it's time to say something good about this game, you know like those work meetings where you say something bad about a person and then tell them something good? Sorry to disappoint but there is only 2 good things about this game, and 1 of them has nothing to do with playing it.

It seems lately i cannot help but keep pumping money into this game, Now it's no where near what some people i know have put into it, In fact I know someone who's dropped around 2 thousand dollars into the game but that's besides the point.

Every time i get some spare cash i will just instantly drop it into this game, 5$ here 20$ there. Then the feeling of regret comes over me saying "why the fuck did you drop this money into something you didn't even really need" then i tell myself " ok that's the last time i drop money into this game" and sure enough like an addict telling himself that's the last shot of heroin then he's done i return to drop stupid amounts of money back into frogster.

The interesting part of all this is that i hardly even run instances, fuck I've never even ran clops or ice dwarf kingdom most of the time I login I just run around doing pretty much nothing but kill some trash mobs and run around more. i don't even pvp anymore unless i can totally gank them with no match because lets face it, i suck at pvp.

You may be wondering why i'm even posting this, well here's why. i dropped 5$ today to do this.

Now to someone who hasn't played runes of magic you will not notice anything weird with this picture, but that "dagger" wasn't a dagger until i dropped 5$ to turn that sword into a dagger then make it ***SPARKLE***

If you're familiar with DOTA this game is pretty much that with updated graphics and more units, But lets skip to the interesting part of the experience.

I had never played DOTA before, i had known about it and the basic idea behind it but i didn't want to dish out money for WC3 just to try it out and i had heard the community was really harsh on newbies so i decided not to pursue that. Fast forward a few weeks ago and i hear about S2games coming out with basicly what is DOTA on a new engine and new stuff so i thought, this is perfect i can see what DOTA was really all about, oh boy let me tell you about it.

First game:
I had no idea what i was doing, and i made the mistake of telling my team that. for the next 25 minutes of the match was argueing back and forth telling me to leave the game, gtfo noob etc etc, Basically everything i heard about the DOTA community was coming true before my very eyes, Oh well whatever i'll just find a new game.
If only it was that easy, the next few games i joined and 1 or 2 people from the last game i had played in it, instantly i was kicked for no reason ( assuming i was new i can only guess it was because i sucked admittedly ) then i found a game i was able to play without people bitching at me for not doing something they wanted me to do.

Now granted, even though this happend the game is polished, pretty balanced, plays/looks good, So if you're a fan of DOTA be sure to pick it up once it comes out, No eta on the release date but if you become their facebook fan you can get a key once they hit 10,000 followers.

Well, where to start honestly? This game is so much different then anything i have played in my life in terms of an mmo. I'm almost speechless in how to review this.

Lets start with avatar creation, so many options so little time you can change absolutist anything one of the most in depth customization of an avatar i have ever seen even more so then oblivion.

After that you're given a brief tutorial on combat, UI, etc. Some of it voice over (horribly done at that) and some of it text, Now onto quests.
The quests are so well done and interesting that you almost have to play the game to understand where i'm coming from, For example there is a quest i had to do where a traitor was trying to assassinate a barkeep and i was ambushed trying to save him and had to chase him down, be it in a dungeon that was linear but it was really fun.

combat is action based, click to swing and hit hot keys for skills, fun and interesting but not without its flaws, auto attack is finicky and clicking the mouse for every attack can get tireing when you miss attacks alot and trust me it will happen more then you can imagine.

Visuals and art direction are top notch in D&D:Online just look at this,

Absolutely stunning in my opinion.

Now down to the issues i have with the game, Some of them are really minor but bug the shit out of me.
- No sheathing of weapons, they're always in your hand really minor but annoying to me.
- skills are a little underwhelming
- Stealth system is really really weird you can stealth next to an enemy and he wont see you, but if you're 50 meters away and he has your back to you then you stealth they will rush you. whodathunkit?
- UI laid out really badly and i hate it to no end.

My opinion of the game so far? i would say as soon as it's open beta you try it for yourself because even a review of this game is underwhelming to what you do in this game, But if i'm going to rate it lets just say a 8.5/10

I've been putting this off sence i had the issue with my username but, I fixed that quite awhile ago and never did a writeup of what i thought of it so lets get this over with, I have better games to play.

This games ~~gimmick~~ unique change in how we play the game is you can turn into a giant furry and slap people around and have an annoying announcer scream "BABY WOLF" in your ears for a few minutes until you decide to quit the game then kill yourself.

I have a picture that will describe this game for me in a nutshell.

Now, lets get down to the non-furry part of the game, you know? the first person shooter.

gun models are surprisingly well done for what the engine can pump out, But it's no counterstrike 1.6 the guns handle from a very of areas from "no spread" to "i wasted playing this game to get the money for this gun?" and there's little to no middle ground on this issue, it's one or the other deal with it.

But an interesting thing about guns is they're customizable, down to the paint job on some of them. +1 to the devs for that atleast, But no character customization.

Oh did i mention this game is peer2peer? oh but one thing, they did something right. I know i couldn't believe it myself what they did was sort out games by your MS to the host so, If i joined a room before i could even get into the game it would check if my ping was good enough to even play with that host and the other clients, If your ping is to high, out you go find another room and this system, although kind of fucking annoying sometimes, works really fucking well for the most part. +2 for devs.

NeoTokyo is a total conversion mode for Half life 2 with Ephesus on team work to capture the GHOST, Well lets start shall we?

After the very long download from the launch party and some blackshot while downloading it i finally finished the download last night and played for about 7 hours then about 2 today.

First, the games menu is a little meh, just a drawn picture but never mind. When you first join a server you pick a side then normally you wait and wait the you can spawn after the match ends.

as soon as you spawn you pick weapons you can carry based on how much XP you have, every kill is a few xp and every 3 or so kills you get a new tier weapon for the duration of the map. The game play is basically slower based then i expected but it's not really a bad thing at all the weapons are little hit and miss sometimes. But this game did something even a professionally produced game didn't do.

be fucking stable and have completely non game breaking bugs.
Yes, I'm looking at you AA3

the game is completely stable, no crashes not hiccups nothing not a single thing. kudos to the devs for that one. the gun play is intense, fun and engaging, Classes are very diverse. Overall i would rate it 8/10 in my opinion.

Section 8 First impressions.

After the very long download, I've finally played a few rounds of Section 8 and here's what i thought.

First of all, it's completely stable, almost no bugs it's a great stable beta.
Into my first round there was so much going on i had no idea what to do, no tutorial just some voice over saying basic stuff like choose your kit, etc, Then when you zoom into a gun you get a fucking aimbot no joke an aimbot.

Now onto the ability's you get, After a while of sprinting you get this super sprint that makes the crysis sprint look like a turtle then every kill you get money with this money you can buy sentry's, supply dispensers and that's about it then there's jet packs, Not much to say about this other then they work.

Over all if i had to sum the game up with a grouse understatement of game play value, it's battlefield 2142 with the unreal 3 engine.

I rate this about a 6/10

First and foremost, i didn't know what to expect with crime craft i had no idea what it was about, how the game play was, basically i was in the dark about this game.

Now when you first start the game you will notice a few things, One the avatar customisation is almost endless, you can make your avatar completely your own you will never look like another person in this game unless you want too.

Lets get down to the meat of this game, When you first start out you get a few quests to explain some things but almost nothing is spelled out for you until you figure it out on your own, But it's not that hard to figure out.

The quests are kind of retarded in the since that risk vs reward is at a bad ratio, One quest that sticks out is the assult rifle challenge where you need to get 10k damage total with an assault rifle but once you beat it you only get 40$ really? 40 fucking dollars when it costs upward to 2k for a new rifle?

Down to the gameplay, The best way i can explain the PvE & PvP is Gears of War with skills and without the sticky wall syndrome ( hugging walls with a tap of a button ) the AI does some smart stuff, Then it will go do equally stupid stuff but it's to be expected with the unreal 3 engine i guess.

PvP is interesting, fun, But completely linear and can get stale after a while, Same goes for PvE.

So far i'm enjoying it, But if i where to rate it hmm, a 7/10 in my book.

Dragon sky, the generic verison review

Well, No one was expecting this to be a good game and they're right holy shit this game is scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of the most uninspired, half assed F2P mmo games to come out in a while, And i've played twelve sky 2.

Now lets get down to starting the game, Nothing out of the normal launcher works, login works, selecting a faction works, awesome maybe this game wont be so bad, Well the first person you talk to has some of the worse engrish i have ever seen in a title We're riveling on zero wing here lady's and gentlemen.

After you read the text and learn about zen & soul you are told to grind some mobs, OH JOY! Now that you're fighting some mobs you will notice something, amazing the fighting animations are good-ish But then you notice it starts cycling through the same animations after about 3 fights, cool.

Then i needed to jump over something and in this game, gravity doesn't exist because you jump like you're on the fucking moon and you will hang in the air for around 5 seconds, no joke.

Then there's the sex appeal for the 12 year olds that haven't found internet porn yet, or just maybe horny Koreans developers that have issues.
